Description
This course provides in-depth instruction of the anatomy, anatomic variants, and sonographic appearance and characteristics of the non-gravid and gravid female pelvis and normal first, second, and third trimester embryonic/fetal structures. Pathology and pathophysiology of the non-gravid female pelvis and first trimester embryonic/fetal structures will be covered. PREREQUISITES: Students must have successfully completed DMS 100 Introduction to Diagnostic Medical Sonography, DMS 105 Sonography Principles & Instrumentation I, DMS 113 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab I, and DMS 115 Abdominal Sonography OR have program director approval to enroll. COREQUISITES: DMS 123 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab II, DMS 128 Vascular Ultrasound I, and DMS 135 Sonography Clinical Practice I unless otherwise approved by the program director.
