- Education & Academics: 15+ courses taught across HIT, medical assisting, and allied health; textbook reviewer/contributor for Cengage, McGraw-Hill, and Cognella. Implementation of curriculum for standards at the state level and for accreditation.
- Public Health, Leadership, & Advocacy: Published work in the Journal of AHIMA. Presenter at the local, state, and national level over various healthcare topics/issue. Attended the AHIMA Advocacy Summit in 2025 to met with local legislatures over the MATCH IT Act and Advancing Non-Clinical Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Act of 202.5

Description
This course is designed to prepare the student for national coding certification through advanced coding concepts, including code assignment in the inpatient facility setting. Content will focus on national coding exam certification through American Health Information Management Associate (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). Prerequisites: ALHT 225 International Classification of Diseases, or permission of program director.
