Description

This course is designed for the allied health student to study the diseae processes affecting the human body through an integrated approach to specific disease entities, including the study of causes, diagnosis and treatment of disease. Pharmacology content emphasizes understanding of the action of drugs, including the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of drugs by the body. This course does not replace NURS 230 Pathophysiology, required for nursing students, or NURS 122 Pharmacology for Nursing. PREREQUISITES: BIOL 257 Human Anatomy and Physiology, BIOL 258 Human Anatomy and Physiology Lab, ALMA 145 Anatomy and Physiology for Allied Health, or permission of program director.
